Game Weekend was fun, part 2.

Hello everyone,

back as promised! Still had no time to edit more video's but I do have all the pictures uploaded to go with my story of how things all went. I left you at the time where some of us went to change into comfortable clothing after the 1 hour walk. So I will start at that point and go on!

PS3 Guitar Hero World Tour

The next game in line was the PS3 Guitar Hero World Tour. Three players can play together: drums, guitar and vocals. Yvonne started on the guitar, Steph on drums and Joyce as vocalist. And then we changed places so everyone who wanted, could take a shot at becoming a rock star!

Some more pictures (I do have some video's, will edit them as soon as I have the time and upload them to the blog!) of our World Tour.

And we decided that it was Buzz! time again. Although I have to say, that we also all had a drink or two or even more (in Yvonne's case: all alcohol free though), so if we look dazed...we were. But we enjoyed it, that's for sure!

After a while, first Ramona and then George went to bed.

Fun with the glowing Buzzer!

We kept on playing Buzz! until 3am and then we decided it was really time to go to bed. I was in bed around 3:30 am and already awake around 7:30. I went to the toilet and hoped to be able to sleep some more. When I was up again around 8:15 I decided it was better to get up, since my back was killing me. So I went out of bed and downstairs. Chance was very happy to see me, especially since it meant she was getting breakfast soon.

I read some more in my book and made myself some roasted bread and tea. Around 9:30 George came downstairs. He decided to give my new Wii game a shot to see if he liked it. It's called: Destroy all humans 3: Big Willy Unleashed. Yes, we just bought a newer version of this game for the PS3 as well. Since both Joyce and I liked it, I decided to buy the older version for the Wii as well. While we were still playing in turns, Yvonne and then Ramona came down as well. I played some "Cars" on the Wii and then everyone was ready for our brunch.

After brunch we decided to get our Wii "Dancing Stage Hottest Party" ready to use.

George brought Ramona to the train station and we continued doing what we did best: playing games! SingStar was up next!

Photobucket Photobucket

And while we all did our best to sing, Chance tried to escape it all by sleeping though it all...

When the others were busy singing, I went upstairs to make some CD compilations with songs that were in our SingStar games. I made a CD for Yvonne, Kim and Steph. Only to find out today that one of the songs was wrongly ID-tagged so is the wrong one for the SingStar game... But the other 18 (I believe) songs are in the game...

When I came down, we decided to play Wii Mario Kart again. We all played together as a team and we even won! Well, once that is... But still, we did it!

And when people are busy concentrating on the screen, they make very funny faces for me to capture with my camera... *winks*

And again, while the others were still playing, I got the memory cards from both Kim and George and together with my own memory card, I made a DVD for the girls and myself with all the pictures and video's. When they were ready, the girls were ready to head home again.

The end of a very nice and fun filled weekend. I must admit I was very tied due to the last of any decent sleep in the last few weeks. So the rest of the afternoon I took it easy. I made pasta for us and after that, I went to bed early. Joyce went along and together we watched two episodes of the fourth "Star Trek Deep Space Nine" season. Joyce already met "Captain Sisko", "Odo" and "Nog" during Collectormania 11 and this May we're going to FedCon 18 in Bonn where we will meet "Major Kira", "Rom" and "Gul Dukat". So it would be nice of Joyce has seen all 7 seasons by then...

This was all about the Game Weekend! I hope you have enjoyed the show *smiles* and the pictures, video's and text as well, of course.

Game Weekend was fun, part 1.

Hello everyone!

Here I am again after a fun and busy weekend. I am now uploading some of this weekends pictures to my photobucket and I will check and edit some of the vids as well for you to enjoy later on this blog. I am doing my best to give you all as soon as possible a glance at how my weekend went. But uploading and editing takes some time, unfortunately, so it'll probably keep me busy for a few more minutes to hours (not going for days though!).

Around 20:45 on Friday, Kim and Steph arrived. Since Steph couldn't join us February 20th to go to Ramona's birthday party on the 21st (due to Chance's heat!), she arranged that her parents would take care for an extra day of Spokie & Pluis (her two cats). They did not mind and she arranged everything with Kim to surprise us by telling us there were to be expected between 20:30 and 21:00 on Friday evening. That way they could practice some more with the games and help out with the grocery shopping on Saturday. Joyce and I had seen some interesting Buzz! updates for the PS3, which we decided to buy and download on Friday evening while playing Wii Mario Kart. We went to bed around midnight, knowing we'd had to head for Nijmegen around 8am.

Photobucket

So on Saturday morning, we stuffed ourselves into the H200 bus and headed for Nijmegen. I had to get some diesel in the tank first when we came into Nijmegen (it's cheaper there than here in Cuijk), otherwise the girls would have to push the bus back to Cuijk. And seeing they were our guests, I could not let that happen. So I filled the tank for exactly € 25 (lucky! I normally end up with getting € 25,02 when I try to hit the 25 on spot), Joyce paid with my card and we were on our way to my parents' place. My dad was still in bed when we arrived. So everyone got to meet with Brutus, then mum got her bags, we all moved back into the bus and headed for the Super de Boer (also where I work). My boss looked very surprised when he saw my mum coming in accompanied by 4 others, instead of just Joyce and me. At the Super we bought our bread (the ones we needed were 50% off that week, so *yay* for us) and we got the cans of coup we needed there as well. When mum got her things together, we went to the cash register, paid and went to the second store: AH. There Joyce and I got everything for the pasta dinner of Sunday, some chips and drinks, milk and juice and then we were almost set for the weekend. After we finished our business at the AH, we went to the last supermarket: Lidl. There we got most of the meats for on bread and some salads and that was it! Grocery shopping 101 was a success and we passed! Then we brought my mum and her bags home. When we were on our way to the highway to Cuijk, Joyce came with the idea to go to the shopping mall in the Dukenburg. Everyone agreed and I made the bus to there *winks*. We shopped in some music and game stores, then went to the ATM for some €uro's and then to Bakkerij Bart (a bakery store) for something to eat. Kim's belly was going insane so we thought it best if she were to be fed asap *smile*. And the rest of us enjoyed a snack as well. In the end I had a PS3 game and a Wii game (both on sale) and some DVDs. Joyce had a PS3 game and some DVDs and Kim bought all 3 of the Shrek DVDs. Then we finally were on our way back to Cuijk!

Ramona had informed us that she'd be arriving around 2pm and Yvonne said to be there around 1pm. So when all the groceries were stored, we got ready for lunch. And then of course: games!

Some questions were quite difficult *winks*

When the others started playing Buzz! I was setting the table ready for the drinks and other yummy stuff.

As agreed, everyone brought along something to eat, snack or drink. That way, everyone made a contribution to the weekend and it was affordable for us to host it.

Here are some Buzz! action pictures for you to enjoy!

Chance also enjoyed the sun and the company we were having.

I made a compilation of the PS3 SingStar video's I had and here it is! Enjoy!

The last songs before dinner

Around 5pm, the soup was getting ready and the baguette's were being baked. At that time the PS3 SingStar was being shut down and we all watched a movie I bought earlier that day: The Addams Family Values.

When the movie was finished, so were the baguette's and the soup. All the girls then went for a walk with Chance. We decided to take a longer walk (about 5km) to St. Agata and back over the dike. It was not too cold that evening and I do believe everybody enjoyed it. It was good for me to walk and it was also nice to being on the couch all day. After ten minutes I did get a bit mad at Chance, since she tried to tackle me several times and I warned her and she kept going on. So I got mad and then she was a very nice doggy again..

After we all got back, some of us slipped into more comfortable clothes, like house suits and PJ's.

I will post more about last weekend very soon again. I have to get downstairs and start preparations for dinner soon, so I'll leave the blog and be back as soon as I can. I surely want you all to enjoy the pictures and vids that are still to come!

Almost ready for the gaming friends

Hello everyone,

here I am again to inform you all that almost everything is ready for our 4 friends and the gaming weekend. We just need to do some grocery shopping tomorrow morning and then early in the afternoon our friends will start to arrive at our place.

OK, I've thought some more about Gin's comment on my "Friends will be friends" blog and I guess I have some more things on my mind (may be just random though, I never know really what I'll write and when I'm started I just go with the flow)...

I have been hurt by the way people treated me in the past and it took me a long time before I had some more self confidence. I knew that when I got messed around with, it was not my fault. Other kids did not like me for who I was, what I thought and how I reacted. They some times also beat the hell out of me, just for fun. When it was one on one, I usually ended up winning so then the one who got beaten up later on took revenge by coming back with his or her homies to hold me down... So if I let myself get beaten, it was not good enough and they'd surely do it again. And if I fought back, they sought out some companions and came back even stronger. As I wrote, I usually had one or two close friends and that was it. When I got to the 4th grade of the HAVO, I started to gain more self confidence and friends. Though the year after that was a tough one again... My grandmother died in the vacation prior to the start of that year. And halfway throughout it I learned about my hiptroubles and my first (upcoming) surgery. And it was the final year, so I had exams and all and I even had to study on my birthday, because the day after, my exams would start. Then the year ended, I passed the exams and went from surgery to my next education. There, I was a loner again and the next year, I started another education, which I also quit. I wasn;t really a big outsider there, but in my second and final year, George lost his mum (13 months after he lost his dad) and I decided I should get more hours in the job I had besides school so I could move in with him and support him in every way.

Ah well, drifting aside from what I had in mind originally. But then, I did mention I never really know where I'm heading when starting a new blog and letting my mind go wild.

Throughout the years, ever since June 1994, I have had a dear close friend. OK, our friendship did gain some bruises but they always recovered well. That dear friend is Eva:

Photobucket Photobucket
Eva and me, in The Efteling, May 2005

And ever since august 2005, when I started my own board (which died twice so far, but I keep rebuilding it, with the help of my friends!) Once more, with feeling & friends and I got memberships on other boards, I started to gain more friends. First only online, but I can happily say that I met some of the members (and some quite often) and consider them my dear friends! We got to know each other because of some mutual interests and we gained very powerful and strong friendships because of that! THANKS EVERYONE!

Ah well, I guess I'll leave it at this now. Gonna get into my PJ's and get mentally prepared for tomorrow *winks*

TTFN (ta-ta for now) my dear friends!
Luv ya!
Cyn xx

Almost weekend *smile*

Hello everyone!

I am back, once again, Nope, still did not finish my "Death's Daughter" book, have to read about 160 more pages... Today I did receive my region 1 DVD of Amber Benson's "Strictly Sexual" DVD. Have to covert it to be able to watch it, but that's no biggie!

Photobucket
This is a signed picture by Amber to me. The shot comes from the movie "Strictly Sexual".

I will also have to get everything ready here at home for our GameWeekend *smile*. Stephanie, Kim, Yvonne and Ramona are coming over for games and fun. And yes, I have my camera bettery fully charged, my 2 4GB memory cards empty so I am ready to make some pictures and video's to share with you afterwards. If you'd like to get an idea about what we're going to do, please read my blogs of February 7th and 8th, when Steph and Kim were at our place.

I wanted to thank Steph, Gin & Steve for commenting so many blogs that I've written so far! I am always very happy when an e-mail comes in informing me that I have a new comment.

And I am glad that, as Gin commented, I can make people think with what I write. Of course I also place blogs just to inform everyone of how my day, weekend or what ever was. But some times I do tend to write something more serious and well... Happy to know that the people who do read my babbling at least can enjoy it and that it some times gives them stuff to think about.

I wanted to share this video with you all. The images are from the 6th season and the beginning of the 7th season of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", of which I do not own any copyrights. These are held by 20th Century Fox and Joss Whedon. The music is from Roxette's "Joyride" album and is called "Things will never be the same". This is the second fanvideo I ever made, about 3,5 years ago. It tells the story (well, short cut) of Tara and Willow from season 6 till Tara's death in season 7.

I will go walk with Chance and tidy up some more!
